Do not rush to install Windows 10

In case you've missed the news or haven't seen the commercials the latest Microsoft operating system, Windows 10, was released at the end of July. You may already be getting notifications on your computer asking you to upgrade for free. At this time, we do not recommend upgrading or buying a PC with Windows 10 unless you have done your homework and researched the implications. If you are in the market for a new PC or are considering upgrading, please give us a call at (855) 520-5200 so we can discuss your options.

Among the many reasons we recommend waiting:

  • It's brand new, so let other people deal with the early bugs and problems that are found in all new products.
  • It's often best to wait for the first Service Pack or major update to the new OS to be released before you start using it.
  • Compatibility with existing software & hardware can be a problem. Any time you upgrade an OS, you want to make sure the software and hardware you use regularly is fully compatible.
  • There will be changes to the way Windows looks and works. Don't lose productivity trying to learn to use Windows 10 before it is fully supported.

I've installed Windows 10 on one of my computers so keep an eye out for my upcoming review and feedback about the new OS.  Please don't hesitate to give us a call with your questions at (855) 520-5200.
